Calendar Update

The School Calender has been updated to include an extra weekend off for winter break. Please take a look and mark your personal calendars as well.
First Day of Class

First day of class begins on September 13, 2015. It will be a full day of class.
Registartion will be open from 10:00 am. There will be no Arabic classes that day.
Please arrive early to register so that classes may start on time.
Toy Drive

Kalamazoo Islamic School is holding an Eid Toy Drive for refugee children. Help sponsor an Eid gift for a needy child this year.
KIS is asking students:
* Grades: 1-8 to bring a new or gently used toy to Sunday School for children ranging from ages 2-14.
*Grades: 9-12 to bring winter gear such as hats, gloves, booths, coats, etc. for kids ages 2-17.
KIS will accept gift cards as well.
Collection times will be this Sunday September 20th and Sunday October 3rd between the hours of 10:00 am-2:00pm
*** If you are donating though the Girls Youth Group you don't have to donate twice.

Eid ul Adha Break

Laptops for Sale

Have you seen these creative laptops before? They are a great
tool to help children memorize short surahs and many duas. Each laptop is $20. All revenue received from selling these laptops will be donated to KIC/KIS.
They will be available for purchase tomorrow at Sunday School. Please stop by the office to get more details or purchase one for your children

KIS Memorization and Tajweed Competition surahs are now out! Please encourage all of your kids to participate. You will be surprised how much the kids will enjoy the competition when they properly prepare.
Dates for the competitions will be posted soon.

KIS school InshaAllah resumes this Sunday (04/17/2016) with the annual KIS "Islamic Knowledge Competition"
No Arabic classes and no classes for grades 1-4.
Guests are from Coldwater & Allah-Huda (GR).
All should attend to support and cheer KIS teams, and for education
KIS New Location Clean Up

Inshallah the closing for the new building will take place on April 29, 2016.
On April 30th we will be at the new location to clean up. We need the support of KIS and KIC families.
We will be meeting at 805 E. Osterhaut, Portage MI at 10:00 am for clean up and organization.
We need the following:
1. Clean up Crew - please bring all of your children 8 and up to help. Older students can get community service credit hours.
2. Cleaning Supplies - please help donate cleaning supplies such as paper towels, mops, brooms, vacuum, cleaning sprays, glass cleaner, cleaning rags, etc.
